It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our company’s founder, Jim Redpath, on Saturday August 2, 2025, in St John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
We send our deepest sympathy and thoughts to Jim’s wife, children and extended family.
James Stockton Redpath was a mere 26 years old when he founded J.S. Redpath Limited in 1962 based on the desire to be his own boss and build his own business. Those who worked with, and for, Jim quickly learned that he was a humble yet direct and forceful leader. He always gave credit for the success of our organization to the people who he worked with, and he claimed to be in awe of the ongoing success we enjoyed after he retired from the business.
Our company owe thanks to Jim for a great many things, not the least for the corporate values he established so many years ago and which still guide us; “Our Philosophy” and “Guidelines for Success” confirm our commitment to continuous improvement in safety, productivity and innovation, and instill in our organization the “Redpath Spirit” that has become our hallmark.
Jim’s legacy lives on across the global world of the Redpath Group.
