Redpath’s global family is rich in cultural and linguistic diversity. Our business interest and projects extend to locations around the world. We passionately believe that community engagement, and being a part of communities, is a fundamental part of what we do. We take an active role in supporting local social programs related to health & wellness, education, children’s sports, and community development through donations, fundraising and employee participation.

Key aspects of this include:

Working with our clients to implement inclusive approaches with local peoples and communities to identify their development priorities and support activities that contribute to their lasting social and economic well-being.
Respecting the cultures, customs and values of the indigenous peoples and communities in the places we work.
The hiring of locals, offering competitive remuneration and providing appropriate employee development and training.
Using local suppliers of goods, services and equipment where it makes sense and provides local benefit both in the short and long term.

Redpath and First Nations Peoples

Mvelaphanda Preschool Outreach

Region: Gauteng Province, South Africa

Redpath supports numerous community empowerment and enterprise development initiatives across Gauteng, all of which are overseen by The Entrust Foundation and are aimed at providing resources to underprivileged schools and communities, creating jobs and nurturing entrepreneurship. One such initiative, of which Redpath is the main sponsor, is the MiniChess Programme at Mvelaphanda Preschool, which uses chess as part of the school curriculum to teach basic maths, science, language and life skills to preschool and foundation phase learners. In addition, each year on Mandela Day, Redpath staff visit Mvelaphanda to donate much needed supplies and carry out infrastructure and aesthetic upgrades to the school grounds.

Thabang Child and Youth Care Centre Outreach

Region: Limpopo Province, South Africa

Redpath strongly believes in community involvement and aims to take an active role in supporting as many local social programmes as possible in the areas in which we operate. The Thabazimbi area is no exception with Redpath supporting Thabang Child and Youth Care Centre – a non-profit organisation that caters for youths from abusive and dysfunctional domestic situations. Redpath has previously run a series of nature, music and art based activities with the youths and has donated various household items to the centre.

Beyond Blue

Region: Australia

Redpath Australia has partnered with the national mental health charity Beyond Blue to raise awareness of depression and anxiety found within the community. During this initiative, donations were made by Redpath for every hour and tonne of dirt hauled by the ‘blue truck’, affectionately nicknamed ‘Papa Smurf’.

FIRST Robotics

Region: North Bay, Canada

Redpath is proud to be the platinum sponsor for the North Bay, Canada Regional Robotics Competition. FIRST Robotics is a worldwide organization that encourages youth to explore the world of engineering, business and programming.

Naadam Festival

Region: Mongolia

Redpath Mongolia is a long-term supporter of the Naadam Festival, the biggest and most traditional festival in the country. It begins with an elaborately produced ceremony featuring dancers, athletes, horseback riders, and musicians. After the ceremony, there are competitions in wrestling, archery and horseback riding.
