GEORGE B. FLUMERFELT

CEO

George came to Redpath in 2003 as Sr. V-P of Operations and has held his current position since 2005.  A Professional Engineer, with over 30 years of experience in the mining sector, he is an active promoter of the mining industry and has served on many boards and associations. During 2017, George became the longest serving President of the Redpath Group since Jim Redpath.

 

TORSTEN KAHN

CFO

Torsten is well versed in global business operations including strategic management and accounting. He is responsible for the overall financials of The Redpath Group. His specific area of focus is the support of Redpath’s growth targets in terms of process efficiencies as well as structural optimization and resource management.

 

PAUL HEALY

President, Americas

After graduating from Queen’s University with a B.Sc. degree in mining engineering in 1984, Paul spent the first 15 years of his career in engineering and operations management positions of increasing responsibility at Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Ltd. and Royal Oak Mines. He then served as President and General Manager of Atlas Copco Canada for eight years and joined Redpath as General Manager, Canadian Operations, in 2008. In his time at Redpath, Paul has developed excellent relations with our clients and his safety leadership has been instrumental in achieving Redpath’s ever-improving safety performance.

 

JOCHEN GREINACHER

Managing Director (Chairman), Redpath Deilmann

Jochen, Master of Civil Engineering, joined Deilmann-Haniel in 1986. He started in the design division where he designed shaft liners, steel and concrete structures. He then was involved in operations as project manager, area manager and vice president. Since 1997 he was in charge of both DH´s international activities and, from 2002 on, in charge of the DH subsidiaries Redpath, Frontier-Kemper (USA) and Deilmann-Haniel South Africa.

In the past 15 years, Jochen has held Managing Director positions of Deilmann-Haniel, Deilmann-Haniel Mining Systems and Deilmann-Haniel International.

 

STUART WHITE

Director Gerente, África

Stuart has close to 40 years of across-the-board mining industry experience in Africa. Prior to joining Redpath Africa Limited as Managing Director in January 2022, Stuart held various C-suite and directorate positions for leading private and listed mining organizations. In addition to being highly skilled in specialized open cut contract mining, Stuart has successfully led multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed teams in the contract mining, junior mining and construction sectors. He has an extensive record of commercial successes, including savings in capital expenditure and innovative resolution of collective issues. Stuart owns pronounced strengths in organizational strategy transformation and continuous business process improvement.

 

GAVIN RAMAGE

Managing Director, Australia

Gavin has over 20 years’ experience within both the Metalliferous and Coal Mining industries. Throughout this time, he has gained valuable experience across a wide range of project sizes and scopes.

 

MICHAEL J. KELLY

President, Redpath Raiseboring Limited, Americas

Throughout his many years in the mining industry, Mike has focused his efforts in the field of mechanical excavation. Mike’s executive responsibilities include the administration and management of Indonesian operations as well as overseeing our raiseboring and marketing efforts globally.

 

DAVID C. HANSMAN

Senior Vice President

Dave joined Redpath in 1976 and has been involved in a wide variety of mining projects including management, business development, engineering and field operations at locations around the world. His primary role is to support Redpath business units in their estimating, planning and innovations, business development, contract formation and project management.

 

DEREK BUDGE, CRSP

Director of Health, Safety and Environment

Derek’s passion for mining health and safety developed soon after he began work as an entry level miner in the early 1980’s. Becoming actively involved in Ontario mine rescue and participating in Joint Health and Safety Committees as a worker helped him make a difference for his co-workers. His passion for sports and the outdoors, as well as a desire to stay healthy, were also primary drivers. These things became even more important when the responsibility of starting a family came along.

 

LELANI ROBERTSON

Global HR Director

Lelani has over 20 years’ experience in HR in various industries. She has held various senior executive positions and has been responsible for the overall HR function for groups of companies in the construction industry. She joined Redpath in 2015 as HR Executive for Africa and was promoted to Global Director of HR in 2018. Ms. Robertson has extensive experience in leadership development and strategic alignment and is responsible for supporting the organisation to achieve its objectives through people.

 

ROUAN DU RAND

Vice President, Project Services, Americas  

Rouan is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, with a Masters in Project Management and 25 years of construction experience, having worked alongside leading private organizations in the building, industrial and mining environment. He has a solid blend of practical project management expertise and an independently capable leader with commercially attuned and technically innovative skill set. His results driven approach demonstrates vision, innovation, integrity and outcome thinking, with a resolute client focus.

STUART WHITE

Director General

STEPHEN HODGSON

Commercial Director

Steve started his career as a candidate Attorney at Dichmont and Thomson in Cape Town in 1991. In 1994, Steve joined Bell Dewar & Hall in Johannesburg where he specialized in commercial negotiation, drafting and litigation, before practicing in partnership with Ramsay, Webber & Co between 1996 and 2000. At Ramsay Webber, Steve continued to specialize in the commercial field and the negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts, particularly in the banking, telecommunications and armaments industries.

Thereafter, Steve joined SA Point, as its Commercial Director. SA Point manufacturing specializes in the design, development, manufacture and supply of merchandising elements to the retail industry in Africa, specifically the cellular sector. Steve held this position for eight years, before continuing to Redpath. Steve is the Commercial Director and is responsible for Redpath Africa’s shared services departments, including finance, commercial, human capital, marketing and information technology.

In addition to his proven ability in the professional practice of law and commercial sectors, Steve has developed considerable expertise and experience in the mining industry generally, particularly in the finance, commercial and services aspect of the contract mining business. Steve is a member of The Law Society of the Cape of Good Hope and the Law Society of Gauteng.

STEPHEN LYTHGOE

Financial Director

Stephen, a registered Chartered Accountant with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), joined Redpath Mining in the position of Financial Controller in 2012 and was promoted to his current position, Financial Executive, in 2017. Prior to joining Redpath, Stephen held senior associate audit positions within PricewaterhouseCoopers New York and Johannesburg branches.

Stephen’s areas of expertise include corporate finance, project control, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), internal controls, implementation of systems and general audit functions.

His qualifications include Chartered Accountant (South Africa), Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (PDip Acc) and Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting).

STEVEN CLARK

Director de Finanzas

MICHAEL J. KELLY

President, Redpath Raiseboring Limited

Throughout his many years in the mining industry, Michael has focused his efforts in the field of mechanical excavation. Mr. Kelly’s executive responsibilities include the administration and management of Indonesian operations as well as overseeing our raiseboring and marketing efforts globally.

SCOTT HAYNE

Senior Vice President

​Scott joined Redpath in 2002 and has progressed through various leadership roles in the company. During his early career, he contributed to several shaft innovations that have been adopted by the industry at large. In 2008, he collaborated in launching AMC, a Redpath JV partnership which went on to successfully sink three shafts in Saskatchewan’s challenging geological conditions.  Following this, Scott managed Redpath’s engineering group and then worked in various leadership and operational roles within Redpath’s Americas business unit.  Currently, Scott leads all operations across Redpath’s Canadian portfolio as well as our Mongolian operations.

MARK IMMONEN

Vice President, Redpath USA Corporation

Mark is a Mining Engineer with over 39 years of varied engineering, operation and management experience.  Starting his career at a narrow vein track mine, Mark has worked as an estimator, project engineer, shift boss, project manager and area manager.  His current position is Vice President where he is responsible for all aspects of Redpath’s US business unit including safety, business development, operations and personnel development.

Since joining Redpath in 1992, Mark has seen the company grow from a North American Contractor with a few international projects to the global company of today.  Whenever possible he promotes from within and enjoys seeing the development and training of personnel into management positions as this is the long term sustainable future of Redpath.

BRUCE MENNIE

Vice President, International Projects

Bruce began his career with Redpath in the mid 1980’s as a fresh graduate from Queen’s University. He spent his early years as a miner gaining experience on projects in Canada, then internationally joining Redpath’s longest running project in Indonesia. Advancing to the position of project manager, Bruce remained in Indonesia for 20 years and continues to manage that operating unit. Areas of expertise include underground lateral, vertical and mass excavation development.

KEVIN MELONG

Vice President, Shafts and Technical Services

Kevin joined Redpath in 2004.  A graduate of the Haileybury School of Mines, he has over 30 years of experience in the mining sector, holding senior positions with both mine operators and contracting firms.  Kevin has been actively involved with some of the most complex shaft sinking and mine construction projects around the world. He keeps a keen eye on the front-end engineering and design process, and brings enthusiasm and positive oversight to the projects he is involved with.

GAVIN RAMAGE

Managing Director

Gavin has over 20 years’ experience within both the Metalliferous and Coal Mining industries. Throughout this time, he has gained valuable experience across a wide range of project sizes and scopes.

CRAIG HOWARD

RORY BURKE

Rory is a Mining Engineer with 20 years of experience working in Australian underground mines. Prior to joining Redpath Australia in 2011 as General Manager of Metalliferous, he held various management roles overseeing specialised service providers for raiseboring, shaft sinking, underground construction, shotcreting, production drilling and mechanised cable bolting.

ALLAN BRADY

General Manager, Raiseboring

Al has worked across Australia and in Asia on mining and civil projects for more than 30 years, 20 of those as a contractor, progressing from the work face to senior management. He is best described as a “people person” with a passion for people, striving to get the best out of his team and making sure everyone gets home safely. For the past 7 years Al has headed up the management of the Redpath Raisebore Division within Australia.

THOMAS AHLBRECHT

Vice President, Operations

Thomas was fascinated with the unknown world of the underground because his home was near a coal mine and he could only see the surface buildings. So he decided to study mining engineering and became a coal miner in the collieries of the 1980’s working for a contractor. After some years working on roadway headings underground, a 500 m deep shaft was being excavated in Austria and Thomas had to bring that site back on track. Since then he became a shaft sinker and has worked on some special projects such as the deepest V-mole shaft in Germany with 1260 metres and achieving new records. He also started ground freezing in Hong Kong – a first time for him. Today, Thomas is part of the SBR team sinking two shafts in Belarus, as well as being responsible for many major and small shaft jobs of Redpath Deilmann.

FRANK OTTEN

Vice President, International Projects

In the early days, Frank started as a carpenter but later decided to study civil engineering in Cologne. After receiving his master’s degree, he worked for several years in the tunnelling industry mainly on construction projects. Starting as a site engineer at pipe jacking projects, he advanced through more responsible positions of claims and contracting, tunnel manager on several Metro projects in Europe and became project manager for the Noord Zuidlijn Metro in Amsterdam. Frank joined Redpath Deilmann in 2015 and is currently responsible for international projects, mainly in the former Russian GUS states.
